A gun safe that looks manageable in a showroom can weigh 600, 800, or close to 1,000 pounds by the time it is bolted shut and loaded. Moving one incorrectly damages floors, walls, doorframes, and occasionally the safe itself. Moving one without the right equipment is how people get hurt.

We move safes up to 1,000 pounds as a standard part of our specialty moving service. We offer both item-based and hourly pricing and will recommend whichever works out better for your specific move. Item-based pricing gives you a fixed number upfront, built around exactly what you are moving. Hourly pricing works better for smaller or simpler jobs. Either way, all foreseeable costs are included in your quote before moving day.

How far in advance should I book residential movers?

For most local moves, two to four weeks is a comfortable window. Long-distance moves benefit from four to six weeks of lead time. Do you move specialty items like pianos and safes?

Yes. We regularly move pianos of all types, upright, baby grand, and concert grand, as well as gun safes, hot tubs, and other oversized or unusually heavy items. These require specific equipment and experience, and we have both.

Can I hire Little Guys to load or unload my rental truck?

Yes. If you are handling your own transportation, we can load your rental truck, PODS unit, or storage container and unload it at the destination. You get professional heavy lifting without the full-service commitment.

How much does it cost to move a gun safe?
