We recently had cleaning day for our trucks at Little Guys Movers here in Nashville as part of our regular care and maintenance. But why is it so important to keep our moving trucks clean, and what else do we do to keep them in good shape?
Keeping Moving Trucks Clean
There’s plenty of reasons to keep our moving trucks clean, the least of which is to keep them looking nice and shiny on the outside. Obviously, if there’s dirt covering the friendly little guy on our logo, people might wonder how much effort or care we’ll put into their belongings if we won’t even take care of our own. But more important than professional reputation is the safety of our movers and your things. Dust, dirt, and mud on the floors of the truck bed can make the floor slippery, leading to potential hazardous slips, and dirty windshields can be dangerous on the road. And, of course, if our trucks are dirty, there is a risk of getting your belongings dirty. So we are very particular about keeping our trucks clean to keep everyone, and everything, as safe and in as good a condition as we can.
Daily Truck Maintenance
At Little Guys, we have a daily checklist that includes a total of 55 inspections before we start our day. Not all of these are about the trucks — they include checking our moving equipment and tools as well — but they do all ensure that we are in our very best shape for your move. Our truck inspections include making sure we check each vehicles’ fluid levels, lights, cleanliness, and anything else that contributes to our U.S. Department of Transportation compliance.
Once we’ve checked those boxes, we check in on moving equipment such as moving blankets — making sure we are following our usual ‘90 blankets per truck’ rule — to fully protect all of your items and get them loaded. Then we check that we have all of our tools, things like drills, tape measures, and anything else we may need for your unique move.
Cleaned and Maintained
Only once we are sure that our trucks and equipment are in their best condition do we head your way to start packing and moving. Your move deserves a clean, safe, and protected transport to your new home, and Little Guys Movers in Nashville makes sure you have that.
