Make a Difference with Move For Hunger

If you’ve been around the Little Guys-sphere for a while, you know how much we care about Move For Hunger. For the uninitiated, Move For Hunger is a nonprofit organization that works with moving companies to provide food for those in need. When people move, they often don’t take all of their food with them. The founder of Move For Hunger once worked as a mover and noticed how often perfectly good, nonperishable food was abandoned in an old pantry or left out on the curb. Move For Hunger makes it possible for this food to be easily donated. People just set aside their unwanted food items and the movers pack it up and deliver it to their local food pantry. It’s simple, and it’s effective – last year alone 3.6 million pounds of food was donated!

Donate During This Difficult Time

Move For Hunger has always been close to our hearts, but it’s more important now than ever before. The COVID-19 pandemic means that more people have lost their jobs and are hurting financially. People in our local communities are in need. Donating to food banks is a simple way to help out during this difficult time.

Want to get involved? It’s easy! Here are two ways you can help:

  • If you’re moving with us, let us know about any food you don’t want transferred to your new space. We’ll pack it up and donate it for you.
  • Don’t have any food to donate? With just a few clicks, you can donate funds to Move For Hunger directly. As little as $25 funds a food drive!

Our Local Food Banks

If you have asked us to haul off your nonperishables before, these are the organizations you have helped support – and we thank you. Additionally, if you need help getting dry and canned goods to a nearby food bank, please contact your local Little Guys Movers to see if they can assist. Our managers are doing everything they can to support their communities during this time.
