When Little Guys Movers in McKinney started looking for a new manager, it made sense to find someone who has experience as a Little Guy. John Forge has worked at Little Guys Movers since 2018, and he left our Fayetteville location to take on the responsibility of Branch Manager in McKinney. We’re thrilled to have him on board!
Q&A with John
When did you join Little Guys Movers, and how did you become a manager?
I started out as a crew member (aka mover). It was 2018, and a buddy of mine was working at Little Guys Movers and said I should apply. After a year as a crew member, I applied for a management position at another location. I didn’t have enough experience at the time, so I continued to work in the field. I worked at the Fayetteville office for three years and then joined the McKinney team when a management position opened up.
What about LGM made you want to stay and build a career here?
The culture of the company is a big part of why I stuck around. Little Guys Movers as a whole is a company that actually cares about what they are doing. Moving locally or long distance is a stressful time in anyone’s life, regardless of the circumstances. From the top of the company all the way down, everyone cares about their coworkers and customers, and everyone has always been supportive and helpful as I have stepped into roles with more responsibilities. The company just has good people around.
What are your hopes and dreams for Little Guys Movers in McKinney?
I want to maintain the same company culture that I have grown to love. I’m taking lessons that I have learned from previous managers to have a successful location, while always holding onto the core values of caring about our customers and being the best moving service available.
What would you say to someone who is considering working at Little Guys Movers?
The possibilities to move up through the company are incredible. All you have to do is work hard and do the right thing. Even if it is only a stopping point in whatever career you choose, you are going to make great friends while working here.
